Dilys had a fairly large seventh year class which she liked a lot as they were all eager to learn.

Today, class, we are learning about Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration. There are five principal exceptions to this law, the first and main being food. The exception is the idea that food simply can't be conjured out of thin air. You can conjure food if you know the whereabouts of the food but not from thin air. Although, you may increase the quantity of the food you already have and transform the food you've got into a different food. However, liquids you can consume, such as sources or water for cooking can be conjured from thin air, so to say.

Her class were scribbling notes down and she continued.

Gamp's Law is a law that governs the wizarding world and tells us what, in terms of transfiguration, is deemed acceptable and possible.

Other exceptions to this law are: money, as you can't simply conjure up a few galleons when you need them, knowledge, so you'll actually have to learn this to pass your NEWTs, love, you can create infatuation-amortentia- but not true love, and life, the dead will stay dead like depicted in the Tale of the Three Brothethers.

Dilys was aware of the time and of how tierd her class looked so decided to leave it there.

That will be all class, learn the exceptions to the law for next lesson.
